Today, I’m doing a massive deep dive into a collection of accessories sent over by our friends at BestEVMod.

I’ve been using their gear on my Rivian for months, so when they reached out to send some Cybertruck hardware, I was stoked to see if the quality translated. From laser-scanned bed mats to innovative cargo nets, we’re outfitting the truck for maximum utility and even a little bit of truck-bed camping.

Protecting the Foundations: Bed and Frunk Mats

The first things I always install are all-weather mats.

  • The Bed Mat: This is made of heavy-duty TPE. It’s laser-scanned for a perfect fit and features a ridge pattern that matches the Cybertruck’s bed floor. It has pre-marked cutouts for the D-rings if you choose to use them. Pro tip: Lay these out in the sun for 24-48 hours to let them flatten out before installing.
  • The Frunk Mat: Same odorless TPE material. It turns that front storage area into a durable, scratch-resistant space that’s incredibly easy to hose down after a grocery run or a trip to the beach.

Cargo Management: The L-Track & D-Ring System

The Cybertruck’s L-Track system is one of its best features, and BestEVMod has some great ways to utilize it:

  1. Reinforced Rear Cargo Net: This hooks into the D-rings near the tailgate. It’s perfect for keeping things like a basketball or a small cooler from sliding all the way to the front of the bed.
  2. Envelope Style Net: This kit includes heavy-duty L-Track hooks. It creates a vertical pocket right at the back of the truck, perfect for grocery bags or sporting gear.
  3. Three-Pocket Net: If you like organization, this one has dedicated compartments to keep your gear separated.
  4. Frunk Cargo Net: This replaces the existing plastic fasteners in your frunk with mounting points for a secure net—ideal for smaller items that usually roll around.

Secret Storage: Interior Solutions

Since the Cybertruck doesn’t have a traditional center console “tunnel” like the Rivian, storage is at a premium.

  • Second-Row Bins: These fit perfectly under the rear seats. Unlike the velcro versions I’ve seen elsewhere, these use secure buckles to stay in place. They even include foam dividers to keep your tools or chargers organized.
  • Front Seat Bins: These stationary bins sit under the driver and passenger seats. They don’t slide, which is great for safety, but they provide a perfect “hidden” spot for extra gear.

Truck-Bed Camping: The Air Mattress Test

We also tested the BestEVMod Air Mattress.

  • The Fit: It inflates in about 2 minutes using a portable compressor (like my Ryobi). It fills the bed space quite well, though it’s a bit snug at the edges.
  • The Experience: I’m a side sleeper, and it’s surprisingly decent for an inflatable. I even tested closing the Tonneau cover while inside—it gets dark, and it’s a bit claustrophobic, but it works! Just remember to hold the “Open” button in the Tesla app to get back out.

Heavy-Duty Protection: Tailgate Cover

One area on my Rivian that gets beat up is the top of the tailgate. BestEVMod sent a Stainless Steel Tailgate Protector with a carbon fiber pattern.

  • It’s built from actual stainless steel to match the truck’s aesthetic.
  • It uses high-quality adhesive to stay in place without damaging the finish.
  • This is a must-have if you’re frequently hauling lumber or Home Depot loads that hang over the back.

Final Thoughts

The BestEVMod gear really elevates the Cybertruck’s utility. If I had to pick a favorite, it’s a tie between the Bed Mat (for that anti-slip protection) and the L-Track Cargo Nets. Having quick-access storage right at the tailgate makes the truck much more usable as a daily driver.
