This past weekend I loaded up the Rivian R1T and hit the road for EV Fest 2024 in Irvine, California. It turned out to be an unforgettable day filled with electric vehicles, community vibes, and some seriously wild mods.
🚗 Teslaruns Pre-Meet in Downey
Before heading to EV Fest 2024 in Irvine, I made a pit stop at the Teslaruns pre-meet in Downey. It’s always a good time catching up with familiar faces like Shawn from EV Confessions and Andrew (aka Teslaruns). Despite the heat, the EV scene showed up strong — from Model Ys to a Mach-E, and yes, I even brought my Rivian to the Tesla meet!

🔥 Cybertrucks, Model Ys & Velvet Wraps
Once we rolled into Irvine, it was straight fire — both literally and figuratively. The temperature was blazing, but so was the lineup of EVs. There were Cybertrucks everywhere — one even wrapped in rose gold, another with a Doge meme wrap, and one rocking a purple PPF courtesy of my buddy Dennis.
Over on the Tesla side, I got to meet Harry, who brought a stunning blue Model Y with yellow calipers, roof racks, and a T Sportline setup. His build was super clean and practical — perfect for daily driving while standing out at shows.
⚡ Lucid Air Bidirectional Charging Demo
Lucid Motors was there showcasing some of their latest features — including bidirectional charging. They even had one of their Lucid Airs powering up a first-gen Model S. That was a wild sight to see! EV Fest 2024 had no shortage of impressive displays.
🛴 Scooters, E-Bikes, and SoCal E-Rides
When it got too hot to walk, I hopped on my e-scooter and cruised through the event. I also stopped by SoCal E-Rides and test-rode one of their electric bikes. These bamboo-framed, customizable cargo e-bikes are fast — I hit 24 mph! Stylish, practical, and locally made in Orange County. Another highlight of EV Fest 2024 for sure.
Final Thoughts
EV Fest 2024 was a blast! I got to reconnect with the community, check out new tech, and experience the creativity and innovation happening in the EV space. From wrapped Cybertrucks to electric Mustangs and Lucids powering Teslas — this event had it all.
