Last weekend, I decided to take a spontaneous road trip to Newport Dunes with my Rivian R1T. I had been planning on going somewhere else, but plans changed at the last minute and I thought, why not? I packed up the truck with some beach essentials and headed out.

The drive to Newport Dunes was about an hour long. I was pleasantly surprised by how efficient the Rivian was on the highway. I was able to get around 3 miles per kilowatt-hour, which is pretty good for an electric truck.

When I arrived at Newport Dunes, I was greeted by a beautiful beach and a relaxed atmosphere. I brought along some beach chairs, a cooler filled with snacks and drinks, and pulled it with a wagon.

I spent the rest of the day exploring the beach and swimming in the ocean. There was a boat launching section I checked out. Many different trucks plus a Cybertruck. It was a beautiful day, and I had a lot of fun.

I had a fantastic time on my spontaneous road trip to Newport Dunes. The Rivian R1T was the perfect vehicle for this type of adventure. It was comfortable, spacious, and capable of handling any terrain. I highly recommend taking a road trip with your Rivian. It’s a great way to explore new places and have fun.
