Today I’m introducing a brand-new star to the channel. You’ve seen the trucks, you’ve seen the tech, but today you’re meeting Mochi, our 62-pound Standard Poodle.
One of the biggest challenges with owning a high-tech vehicle like the Cybertruck—especially with a “Tactical Gray” interior—is keeping it pristine when you have pets. Between the sharp claws and the inevitable shedding, I knew I needed a heavy-duty solution. Today, I’m unboxing and installing the EVBase Dog Seat Cover specifically designed for the Cybertruck.

The Installation Process

- Headrest Alignment: There are three straps for the rear headrests and two for the front. The middle rear strap uses a velcro system—you’ll need to lift the headrest slightly to slide the velcro under and over for a tight fit.
- Seat Clearance: I was curious if the cover would interfere with Tesla’s “Entry Mode” (where the seat slides back to let the driver out). I put the camera on a tripod and tested it—even with the seat fully retracted, the cover has enough slack to move without straining the straps.
- Floor Stiffness: The base of the cover has a surprising amount of stiffness to it (likely a reinforced board or thick tpe). I actually hopped in myself to test it—it supports weight well and doesn’t just sag into the footwell.
The Mochi Test: Real-World Usage
Mochi is a big girl—62 lbs of energy. As soon as I zipped up the side “walls,” she was perfectly contained.
- Visibility: Even though she’s a large dog, she has plenty of room. However, if you have an extra-large breed (Great Danes, etc.), be aware that with the seats in their standard position, a very tall dog might bump against the glass roof.
- Storage: The cover includes built-in pouches for leashes, treats, or poop bags.
- Cleanliness: In the past, I just used a giant towel in the Rivian. The problem? Towels aren’t waterproof and they trap smells. The EVBase cover is a massive upgrade in terms of hygiene and ease of cleaning.
